This Privacy Policy explains how iThor Technology LLP ("we", "us") handles information when you use the Kensho mobile app ("Kensho" or the "App"). Kensho is a workout logging and fitness program app for iOS and Android.
In short
- Your workout logs, routines, and schedules stay on your device by default.
- We do not require a Kensho account, email sign-in, or password.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- Some limited data is sent to our servers to verify purchases, deliver program content, and understand product usage in aggregate.
Information stored on your device
Kensho stores most of your fitness data locally in an on-device database. This includes workout sessions, exercises you create or import, routines, schedules, progress summaries, app settings, and onboarding quiz answers you choose to save.
This data is used to run the App on your phone or tablet. We do not upload your workout logs to our servers.
- You can delete on-device data from Kensho Settings or by uninstalling the App.
- Deleting the App removes local data from that device. Purchased marketplace programs may not automatically restore on a new device because Kensho does not use account sign-in.
Information sent to our servers
When you use certain App features, limited information is sent to services operated by iThor Technology LLP and hosted on Cloudflare (for example at ithortechnology.com). We use this information to operate the marketplace, verify purchases, and improve our programs.
We do not store your display name, email address, exact age, individual workout logs, or your raw IP address in these systems.
- Purchase verification: a random install identifier, device platform (iOS or Android), and purchase receipts or tokens from Apple or Google so we can unlock paid content.
- Onboarding quiz (optional): broad fitness preferences such as training focus (muscle, general strength, yoga/mobility, or fat loss), goal, experience level, equipment band, days per week, session length band, age band, and gender — not your exact age.
- Program import events: which pre-built program you imported, access type, and content version — to understand catalog usage.
- Approximate location: country and region derived by our hosting provider from the network request. We do not store your full IP address.
- Language/locale: your app language setting when a server request is made.
Device permissions
Kensho may ask for the following permissions. You can decline optional permissions and still use core workout logging features.
- Photos / media library (optional): to pick a photo for workout share images and to save share images you create. Photos you select are processed on your device for sharing; we do not upload your photo library.
- Notifications (optional): to show workout reminders scheduled locally on your device. Kensho does not use remote push notifications in the current version.
- App Tracking Transparency (iOS, optional): if you allow tracking, Kensho may use the advertising identifier (IDFA) with Meta (Facebook) and Google Analytics to measure ad performance and attribute installs. You can decline; core App features still work.
- Camera and microphone: not used by Kensho.
Purchases and payment information
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We receive purchase status and transaction identifiers needed to unlock content. We do not receive or store your payment card or bank account details.
Refund and billing support for store purchases is handled under Apple or Google policies. Contact us if you need help understanding what Kensho unlocked after a purchase.
How we use information
With your consent where required (for example Apple App Tracking Transparency on iOS), we may use advertising identifiers and app events with Meta (Facebook) and Google Analytics to measure campaigns, attribute installs, and understand which ads led to App engagement. You can decline tracking; we still operate Kensho without personalized ad measurement from IDFA.
- Provide and maintain App features, including local workout logging and marketplace program delivery.
- Verify purchases and manage entitlements.
- Understand aggregate product usage to improve programs and onboarding.
- Respond to support requests you send us.
- Comply with applicable law and protect against fraud or abuse.
Sharing and service providers
We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data only with service providers that help us run Kensho, such as Cloudflare (hosting), Apple and Google (app distribution, billing, and Google Analytics), and Meta (Facebook) for App Events and advertising measurement when enabled. These providers process data under their own terms and only as needed to provide their services.
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users and our services.
Retention and deletion
On-device data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the App.
Server-side purchase and telemetry records are kept as long as needed to operate the marketplace, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our terms. You may request deletion of server records linked to your install by emailing us. We may need to retain certain purchase records for tax, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.
Children
Kensho is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of Kensho after an update means you accept the revised policy.
