Progressive overload, simply
How to get stronger over time: add reps or weight when form is solid — without rushing.
Progressive overload means asking a bit more of your body over time so it adapts. Small steps beat big jumps.
Key points
- Add weight when you hit the top of your rep range with solid form.
- Or add a rep or two before increasing the load.
- Better range of motion and control also count as progress.
- If form breaks down, stay at the current load another week.
- Log your sets in Kensho so you can see what to beat next session.
- Pair training with enough protein and sleep so you can recover. More on protein and whey
