New to training? Start here
A short beginner guide: simple habits, safe progress, and links to protein, progressive overload, and natural training.
If you are just starting, you do not need a complicated plan. Build a few steady habits, keep form honest, and give yourself weeks—not days—to improve.
Key points
- New? Start with a bodyweight or light-equipment routine you can finish consistently.
- Drink enough water through the day (about 2 liters is a simple target for many adults).
- Aim for daily movement — around 10,000 steps is a useful habit, not a hard rule.
- Learn good form before chasing heavy weights. Then progress gradually. More on progressive overload
- Eat enough protein to support recovery. Whey can help if whole food is hard to hit. More on protein and whey
- Train natural. Kensho does not support steroids or banned substances. Read our stance
- Pick one program and stick with it for 4–8 weeks before switching.
- Rest days are part of training — sleep and recovery matter.
